A start to a humanitarian mission.

Our Graduation. I would like to give a start like this.

A morning all the things were as usual for me, but for another group of friends a unforgettable day. I got up in the early morning and went to Regional hospital of Kursk to my infectious diseases cycle. We met our teacher Associate professor Mrs:Belowa. She divided us to several groups and gave us patients to examine and take their case histories. We did all the things as she asked. After several minutes we finished our class and came home. I was waiting in my hostel. I was late to the convocation of the summer batch 2011. Kursk popular name at the time of world war two. The specialty is our university also located in the Kursk region. Its Kursk State medical University. A university very popular among Asian countries. In Russia a university very popular for its excellency in the field of medical experiments and a university located in the European Region of Russia.
Being a doctor in a country situated in the Asian region is a dream. As I am a Sri Lankan truly a difficult job. Difficulty is not only being a doctor but also get in to the medical university. I bet it’s the ultimate challenge. Anyway we got the opportunity to be doctors. We came to Kursk.  We know whats the real role of a med personal in our countries. For centuries Ayurveda doctor in rural villages was the unofficial leader and the most educated person in the village. Not only in my country common to India, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Africa, and Etc. The legacy of this old Ayurvedic doctor, made our profession  very specific . Probably the most honored profession in our countries. (Every one honor to a Justice because legally its a must.).  If we take a doctor everyone honor him because, he is the person who has the real ability and the knowledge to heal the body and mind of a patient.  Its not a easy job to handle a case which comes  to the OPD in a sudden. The hard thing is, every doctor should have the confident to take the patient in to his hospital (If the required facilities are available) and examine, evaluate and manage the situation.  Keep the patient alive at least till you get the specialized support from a medical specialist. (According to my ENT teacher a conicotomy is a primary medical skill). In emergency cases a young house officer will be the leading role in a hospital. In such a condition he will be a god to the patients and to their families.
A good doctor have following skills
1)      Manage emergency situations with many causalities.
2)      Resuscitation.
3)      To work as a community doctor.
4)      Educate new doctors and supporting medical staff.
5)      Prevent diseases in communities.
6)      Support patients with grave illnesses physically and mentally.
7)      To develop new medical policies according to the needs of the community.
8)      And many more.

In Sri Lanka from a cave historians found clues and evidences of 35000 old civilization. In china Africa and India also found such evidences. Communities who enough civilized to bury their dead bodies. 30000 year before the Egyptian civilization. I'm sure the real history of medicine waiting to  come out from the sands of the time. Any way western people were so clever to convince us to accept Hippocrates as the father of modern medicine (Its true he was a talented doctor). Except that we have taught to accept him as the father of modern medicine without doubts. Its one of our mistakes. Its not a big conflict but usually Asians are very flexible. Don’t  let this point to use against us. Though we are sons and daughters of the western medicine it doesn't mean our knowledge belong to western world. It’s the most trusted knowledge mankind collected up today. Origins of this knowledge may runs to many directions.  The main thing is you became a doctor. A person really have the ability to help people.  I'm sure our students (Our senior students) have humanity in their minds. I'm sure they will be the best doctors in our regions. I wish them all the
success
Be the best. Congratulations to my dear brothers and sisters.
