Memorizing heroes among students

A small story about some real sri lankan students who were in Kursk a long ago.
Wring this letter to reveal the real ability and the real fights for living. I don’t have any desire to insult anny sri lankan tamil student or a Sinhala student in this letter. This is a collection of their stories. There were main three characters in the story. As in my story too. The names are not real but the story line is a pure one.  Gananathan and Wasanthan were two tamil students who came to Kursk State Medical University around ten years ago. As usually their sri lankan contractors (People who sent them here) very clever.  Each student had paid 6000$ at the beginning. Their contractors told them this is the course fee. Gananathan Wasanthan paid this money individually. Gananathan had no parents. Their sri lankan contractors lied to them. They thought 6000$ is the last payment to do to be a doctor. The nice thing was they were convinced by some cheaters to believe their course fee as 6000$.
They came to Kursk in a nice winter time and started their studies here.  The real face of the international education met them after one year. Gananathan and Wasanthan were astonished when the university (Yes the same university KSMU, our Alma Mater) asked money for the further education. They became mad. Time passed little by little. They tied to earn money .They new what are the hunger pains means. They knew how hard to live 3 days with few kopeks in their pockets. But the determined nice fellows started the fight against the cruel environment. Gananathan started to cook and sail fast food, Wasanthan was a little weak but he was in the fight. Wasanthan later took a decision to marry a Russian girl because this may give some relief to his crucial problems. Think about a person without food. As the writer I have felt it. Some of my cooking mates now these situations.  They felt the same pains but not long like Wasanthan.
Wasanthan one day went to one friend’s house just for a visit. It was a day time.  Friend Asked “hey brother do you need something to eat? “Did you take your lunch?” Wasanthan told the truth. They were starving for two days the only food was Russian Black bread.(I never forget this food for my life time). His friend became so sad. He cooked and fed Wasanthan and asked about the problem. The girl having her menses he doesn’t have buy the utilities. The friend bought the necessary things from the shop and he bought a chicken and rice too. Wasanthan was so thankful to the friend. As the writer I really respect that Russian girl who took such difficulties in their marriage life. Today such girls are very rare. Even Russians will prove my pint. But the life of wasanthan  was filled with many difficulties  he couldn’t earn enough to pay the tuition fees. That time the immigration rules were not so strict as today. Wasanthan escaped to France with her girl friend. One day he called that Sri lankan student who helped him when he was in a critical condition.  He told”Brother I came to France with my wife. We have jobs now brother if you need some help tell me I will send money”. Jananathan ended his medical education and started a new life. He didn’t forget the people helped him. But a student came to be a doctor change his way due to financial problems, helplessness and strict and cruel administration of the university. I stop with the wasanthan’s story now. Gananathan was a bright student. He studied cooked, delivered them, and worked as a waiter in a Sri Lankan café. He earned as much as he can but it wasn’t sufficient to pay the course fee on time. Gananathan also said good bye to medical education later. When he was in second year Gananathan decided to stop his education and face his destiny. He didn’t had his parents even. Se the cruel attitudes of the society, cruel characteristics of the educational institutions and hard social conditions changed their way. But they never defeated. Some news from Canada and france Germany confirm that they are spending a good time there. In my memory there were many like this from our own country. Im not insulting them. I consider them as heroes in my time.  Getup at 2 am cooking, delivering, selling products even in the lecture halls, 1.5km walk to buy  several bundles of Cocacola, Pepsi, Milk and etc to keep a small profit(our third character Menaka). A profit not spent to a beer bottle. Hardly earned profit for education. When the professors throw their students (their children) out from the classes these heroes dedicated their enjoyable student life nice chats, material discussions, romances, sports and everything what they had as a university student.  Hey you! You don’t have your class permission go out? We go out from the class. We blame no one. I think in another way these make real doctors.  I do not appreciating my administration.  They could have made a big difference but they don’t do it. Always such changes start from the small people like us specially students, the level of people who really suffer because of useless rules. Students should learn well. Some day there me be a wave of change. Then most of us can join with it and can support to the real fight of Gananathan’s  wasanthan’s and many others which I didn’t mentioned here. French revolution is a good example.
